Mona Past Student Jelani Munroe is the 2018 Rhodes Scholar

KINGSTON, Jamaica - Jelani Munroe has been named Jamaica Rhodes Scholar for the 2018-2019 school year.

Munroe, a 23-year-old Stanford University graduate, beat a field of 10 shortlisted candidates who were interviewed by a panel of former Rhodes Scholars at Kings House earlier today.

The scholarship is tenable at Oxford University where Munroe will pursue an MPhil in Development Studies. He holds a Bachelors degree in economics and public policy (development and growth policy) and a certificate in general management.

Munroe works as financial manager of the Associated Students of Stanford University (ASSU) and is chief executive officer of its student entrepreneurship education arm - Stanford Student Enterprises.
