Please be advised that there will be traffic changes on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 to facilitate the Dedication Service of the Avinash Potluri Science Centre. The Service will commence at 8:00 a.m.
The traffic changes will result a portion of the parking lot being unavailable to parents/guardians for parking. We kindly ask that you drop off the children promptly to reduce the congestion on the School’s compound. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Ballet classes will not be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 as the instructor is ill. We hope to have our regular scheduled classes resume on Wednesday, October 1, 2014.
The first P.T.A Meeting for the academic year 2014/2015 will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. in the Church Hall. All parents/guardians are encouraged to attend and meet the new PTA executive body.
The Celebratory Football Match will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the UWI Bowl. Please come out and show your support as our old boys compete against each other in a series of football matches. Refreshments will be on sale.
A special Parents’ Conference (Grade 6 Only) will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 7:30 a.m. in the Computer Room. All parents/guardians of students in grade 6 are encouraged to attend.
**Other Events to note**
In commemoration of World Site Day, The Jamaica Society for the Blind will be hosting a health fair at their premises at 111 ½ Old Hope Road. The fair will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The offerings will include: vision, cholesterol and blood pressure checks, legal advice courtesy of the Legal Aid Clinic among other things.
The Ministry of Education, Jamaica Teaching Council is holding its first national Forum on Innovations in Teaching (F.I.T) on October 10 and 11, 2014 at the National Arena, in commemoration of World Teachers’ Day. Tickets are available at the School’s Front Desk for those parents/guardians who are interested in attending. The cost for the adult ticket is $500 ($600 at the gate).
We invite our parents/guardians to take advantage of this two-day forum, where the public will be presented with the innovations of teachers and students, while we celebrate all teachers in Jamaica.
